1. Prepare shopping/grocery list – Before going to the grocery store, do an inventory of your kitchen to determine the food and things that you need to buy.

2. Eat before going to the grocery store – Everything looks good when you are hungry. You will end up spending a lot more.

3. Have a budget – When you go to the grocery store, you should know exactly how much you can spend.

4. Use cash instead of credit cards – When going to the grocery store, leave your credit cards at home. Using cash will make you think before making a purchase.

5. Ask yourself: Do I really need this? – You should avoid buying things that you don’t really need.

6. Stock up when there is a sale – Buy a bunch of items you normally use.

7. Have meatless days – Instead of including pork or chicken in your meals, cook pasta without meat or cook vegetables like baked potatoes with broccoli and cheese.

8. Make homemade “fast food” – Instead of going to famous fast food restaurants, you can cook burgers and pizza at home. Make it a family bonding activity.

Rihanna looks for Bone Marrow Donor

When the 20-year old singer learned about a New York City mom stricken with leukemia who needs a marrow transplant, she immediately offered to help. She told PEOPLE magazine, “When I learned about Lisa Gershowitz Flynn’s plight, my heart broke, I said, I need to get the word out about Lisa right away.”

Flynn learned that she has an aggressive form of cancer called Acute Myelogenous Leukemia right after Thanksgiving. According to doctors, she needs to find a donor match soon.

Rihanna is working with DKMS, an organization focused on providing the best donor match for patients. They have the largest database in the world. Rihanna believes in the organization’s purpose, “I think DKMS is an incredible charity because you can really see the results.”

Flynn has kind words for the sultry singer, “For Rihanna to even be thinking about helping others and putting herself out there when she is so busy with her career is tremendous.”

Rihanna was also named the honorary Cultural Ambassador for her native homeland Barbados by the Barbados Tourism Authority.

Angelina Jolie Collapsed During Flight

The 32 year old actress collapsed during an 18 hour flight from Iraq to Los Angeles via London.

Angelina, who is expecting twins with partner Brad Pitt, fainted after experiencing nosebleed and leg cramps. She was given oxygen by medics when the plane landed. Many observed that Angelina looked weak and pale. Witnesses say she looked really sick. According to reports, Brad hired a live-in nurse to take care of Angelina.

Brad and Angelina are planning to tie the knot later this year at Saint Louis Cathedral, New Orleans.

Making Your Windows XP Look Like Vista

If you’ve decided to wait for Windows 7 instead of upgrading to Vista, you don’t have to feel bad. You can still get all that eye candy found in Vista and keep XP. Let’s take a look at two different ways you can make XP look like Vista.

1. Using A Transformation Pack

If your computer has more than 1 gig of memory and you know your way around your rig, a transformation pack will do the job. The Vista Transformation Pack will turn your XP interface into a Vista clone.

The transformation pack will change the boot screen, welcome screen, desktop icons, wallpapers, toolbars, and a lot more. Just remember to create a restore point before installing this just to be safe.

2. Using Themes

If you don’t want to use a transformation pack, you can still get that Vista look by using visual styles. VistaVG Ultimate is a visual style that will transform your XP interface to Vista. Unlike the transformation pack, this theme uses only a small amount of memory so you won’t be experiencing any slowdowns.

Addons for VistaVG

If you’ve chosen to use VistaVG, you’ll notice that it doesn’t have the Vista sidebar. You can download the free Vista Sidebar for XP by Thoosje to complete the look.

Aphrodisiac Recipe #3

Chicken, Avocado and Mango Salad

serves 8

Aphrodisiac ingredient: Avocado

Ingredients:

2 tbsp brown sugar

1/4 cup water

1/3 lime juice

1/2 cup chili garlic sauce

4 cups shredded, cooked chicken

2 medium mangoes – peeled, seeded and diced

2 avocados – peeled, pitted and diced

1 (10 ounce) package spring lettuce mix

Procedure:

1) In a saucepan over medium to high heat, stir together the brown sugar and water. Bring to a boil, then pour into a medium bowl. Stir in the garlic chili sauce and lime juice. Set the dressing aside.

2) In a large bowl, toss together the chicken, mangoes and avocados. Arrange the spring salad mix on serving plates then top with a few spoonfuls of the chicken mixture. Pour dressing over the top.

Pasta with Asparagus

serves 4

Aphrodisiac ingredient: Asparagus

Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces

1/4 cup chicken broth

1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced

8 ounces angel hair pasta

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp crushed red pepper

1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Procedure:

1) Cook pasta.

2) Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet. Saute asparagus on the pan over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Add chicken broth and mushroom slices; cook 3 minutes more.

3) Drain pasta, transfer to serving dish. Gently toss pasta with asparagus mixture. Sprinkle with parmesan and crushed red pepper.
